The wait is over. On Wednesday 20 September, the new Coles at Dickson Village threw open its doors. Eager shoppers delighted in the fully stocked shelves in the huge 4,000 m2 store at the heart of Dickson.

Official opening

A large crowd gathered to watch ACT Chief Minister, Andrew Barr, officially open the new Coles, the flagship tenancy in the long-awaited Dickson Village complex. TP Dynamics partnered with Coles in 2021 to develop the site and deliver more choice for Canberra’s inner north residents.

The Chief Minister spoke of the community’s interest in Dickson’s second supermarket and eagerness for it to open. He was joined by our Managing Director, Tony Pan; the Coles State General Manager for NSW/ACT, Ivan Slunjski; and business owners from new tenancies.

Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the commons outside the new store, guests were treated to a spectacular acrobatic and musical performance from the Qing Fong lion dance team.

Wednesday was one of two opening celebrations TP Dynamics coordinated for the new Dickson Village. On Saturday 23 September, locals were again treated to free parking, coffee and light breakfast as well as performances and activities for the whole family.

Greater choice for the inner north

The 4,000 m2 Coles supermarket and Liquorland deliver a modernised supermarket experience for local residents and the wider community. The new supermarket includes an extensive selection of local and international cheeses and deli items, an open-front bakery, a dessert bar complete with macarons and even a pet treats bar.

Improved parking

More than anything, we know that parking has been a key concern for visitors to Dickson. The introduction of more than 450 new basement parking spaces is proving very popular! Shoppers at Coles or Liquorland can access 2 hours of free parking with presentation of a validated receipt at parking stations.
