Overview
Big news for the Newlyne neighbourhood: a four-level wellness village is on the way, and nothing like it exists in Canberra yet!
We're proposing something we think will reshape what living in Lyneham feels like. A vertical wellness precinct at Yowani that pulls together movement, recovery, longevity, social wellness and lifestyle medicine into one anchor destination. Inspired by global names like Othership in Toronto, Remedy Place in LA and Saint Haven in Melbourne, none of which exist in Canberra in any integrated form.
It's not a gym, not a spa, not a bathhouse, not a clinic, not a social club. It's the integration of all of them, designed as Australia's first urban wellbeing village. The kind of amenity you'd normally need to fly interstate or overseas to experience, sitting at the doorstep of Mattone, Moire and Mason.
The site sits less than four kilometres from Civic, in one of the ACT's fastest growing corridors and only minutes from the AIS. With Newlyne already shaping a brand new neighbourhood, the precinct adds the social and wellness anchor that turns a residential village into a true destination.
WHAT'S INSIDE
The ground floor is the public-facing heart, what we're calling The Market and The Commons. An organic café using rooftop-grown produce, a curated grocer, a wellness sushi restaurant, athleisure and wellness retail, a co-working lounge and a podcast studio. Open to everyone, all day, the kind of place that sets the tone for the whole building.
Above that sit the movement floors. Level one houses the strength floor, functional training zone, cardio zone and mobility nook. Level two delivers the studio experience, hot red light pilates, yoga in a heated salt-walled room, reformer pilates, boxing and a run club lab with treadmills and gait analysis.
Higher still is where wellness gets serious. Level three is the longevity clinic with biomarker testing, biological age assessments, hyperbaric oxygen, red light therapy, cryotherapy and a luxury spa called The Healing House. Level four is the social wellness floor with a bathhouse, pool club, sauna, plunge, members-only wellness bar and curated sunset sessions
ALREADY IN MOTION
The DynamiQ gym in Giralang is already up and running, and it's the proof point for what comes next. Reformer pilates, red light therapy and a full recovery suite operate daily, with the team building a community around the idea of movement with purpose. The Newlyne version takes everything that works there and scales it into something far bigger.
This is the bigger, better, more exciting version of what Canberra wellness can be. We'll share more as the project progresses, but for now, we wanted future residents to see what we're building toward. Something that makes Newlyne not just a place to live, but a place to live well.
