Overview
The future hotel at Garema Place has officially been named Aurora!
In partnership with Crystalbrook – an award-winning Australian hospitality group known for their sustainable, design-led hotels – we’re focused on delivering this exceptional project with care, efficiency and minimal disruption. Environmental consciousness is embedded throughout the project, supporting Crystalbrook’s group-wide sustainability goals across emissions, energy, water and waste.
Set in the heart of Canberra’s CBD, Aurora will bring contemporary luxury to one of the city’s most iconic public spaces. The hotel will offer stylish, modern accommodation and create a lively new destination at street level with food, drink and social spaces that connect directly with the energy of Garema Place.
Inside, the building will feature spacious guest rooms across ten levels, a rooftop bar with sweeping city views, and wellness facilities including a pool and gym – bringing comfort and amenity together in the centre of the city. The design draws from Canberra’s architectural heritage, with a curved façade inspired by the city’s nearby parliamentary buildings. A central skylight atrium and abundant greenery throughout the interior are key features, intended to seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor spaces and bring natural light deep into the hotel.
Construction of the hotel continues to progress steadily, with the team expanding to support the next major stage of works. Structural topping-off is expected to be completed this December, marking a significant milestone. Following this, construction will shift focus to the façade and internal fit-out throughout 2026. The project remains on track to deliver one of Canberra’s finest new five-star hotels in early 2027.
