Overview
Mattone is on the move at Newlyne, with a first home buyer event landing at the end of the month!
Mattone is the second residential chapter in the Newlyne precinct, an 87-apartment building taking shape alongside Moire on Yowani land in Lyneham, with completion set for the middle of 2027. The name comes from the Italian word for "brick", a nod to the textured facade that gives the building its distinctive shape, layered character and unmistakable street presence.
That facade is still a render for now, but the ground beneath it tells a different story. Where the original country club accommodation once stood, the site has been cleared, levelled and prepared for what comes next.
A year and a half on, the site looks very different. The bulk earthworks are well advanced, the deep retaining walls are now in place, and the basement levels are forming. The full footprint of both Moire and Mattone is laid out across the site, with the rhythm of the precinct beginning to read on the ground.
A CHARACTER OF ITS OWN
While Moire takes the upscale lead at the precinct, Mattone has carved out its own personality. The 1, 2 and 3 bedroom configurations cover a different range of households, and interest has been strong since the November launch. A dedicated event is coming up at the end of the month, designed with first home buyers in mind and including a session on current financing options like the First Home Buyers Scheme.
Beyond the front door, the setting is everything Newlyne offers: an all-electric, sustainability-focused precinct gathered around a 10,000 square metre central park, with the new Yowani course alongside, the light rail at the doorstep and the CBD just a short ride away. For Mattone residents, that means stepping into a fully formed neighbourhood from day one, with the everyday made easier and the weekends made more interesting.
From the bathroom finishes through to the rooftop terraces, the renders give a clear sense of where Mattone is heading. With site works well advanced, that vision is starting to feel real on the ground. The Newlyne Experience Centre is the natural place to step in, walk through the dwelling plans and ask about the upcoming event before it lands.
