Overview
The new Yowani clubhouse is open, the course is in play, and a fresh chapter has begun for Lyneham!
Years of planning and construction have come to life next door to Newlyne. The rebuilt Yowani Country Club clubhouse has opened its doors, the new 18-hole course is being enjoyed daily, and one of Canberra's most loved country clubs has stepped firmly into a fresh era.
The vision was first drafted back in 2017, with a brief to refresh facilities for a new generation of members and to create a more vibrant heart for the surrounding neighbourhood. Eight years on, that vision is real, and it stands as one of the most extensive renewal projects delivered in Canberra's north in recent memory.
Joining the offer is a new driving range, rounding out the practice facilities alongside the course. As club chair John McCullagh has noted, practice facilities are essential for any aspiring top-level golf course. The result is a club that does not just function, it sets a standard for the area around it.
For TP Dynamics, that established setting has shaped how Newlyne has been delivered. The country club is the natural anchor of this part of Lyneham, and our work has been about building a residential village that fits naturally into a neighbourhood already alive with activity.
The first stage of Newlyne is now under construction on nine hectares of Yowani land along Northbourne Avenue. Future residents willarrive into something genuine: rolling fairways at the doorstep, a club already in full swing, and the textures of an established neighbourhood from day one.
Once the broader community is fully realised, more than 3,000 residents will call this part of Lyneham home. It is a rare combination in Canberra, a residential village built around an established country club, and it is taking shape right now.
